First Impressions Count

Whether in therapy or supervision, it is crucial that the client/supervisee and therapist feel right together.

I usually meet with people for an initial appointment, for which there is no charge. I meet with those who wish to pursue psychotherapy/supervision, for a second assessment session and agree a contract.

Normally I agree an initial contract of 3 months at which point we review whether working together is right and is proving valuable. Regular reviews of the work are built-in.

Individual therapy sessions are the traditional “50 minute hour” and are normally weekly.
Twice- or three-times-weekly, or fortnightly, sessions are possible.

Supervision

I have been a psychotherapy and counselling supervisor for many years. Therapists from a variety of modalities seem to find a freshness and richness in reframing their work from a psychoanalytic perspective.

Fees

£70 per session –  I do offer a limited number of therapies/supervision at a concessionary rate. There is a reduced fee for anyone who wishes twice/ three times a week therapy.

Oversight

All psychotherapy and counselling work should be supervised; my own supervisor is a distinguished psychotherapist of many years’ standing. She has no personal information about the people I see.

Professionally, I am a Registered Group and Individual Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist, with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), through the “Council for Psychoanalysis and Jungian Analysis College” (CPJA).

My work is covered by the UKCP Standards and Code of Ethics and Complaints Procedures
